Adaptive performance in refugees after trauma: how relevant are post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth?

Purpose Wars can lead to massive migration waves, e.g. the Syrian Civil War that began in 2011 led European refugee crisis. Discussions about labour integration often accompany huge spikes asylum applications. Since many refugees experience traumatic events, such as torture, health problems must be considered work context. Unfortunately, relevance of post-traumatic experiences specific job performance facets has mainly been ignored. To close research gap, a study with living Germany was conducted examine what extent trauma-related variables are relevant variables. Design/methodology/approach The relationship between stress (PTS), growth (PTG) and adaptive (social task-oriented performance) examined as, nowadays, activities require dealing changes (e.g. new colleagues, technologies).
